Later, the girls realize that the water at the school partly repressed the infection and came from the river which the infection originated from. After the storm causes a loss of power in the school, the School Life Club acknowledges that they can no longer live there and leave after having a makeshift graduation ceremony. The first part of the story takes place here, until a storm draws a large number of infected, who break their way inside to get out of the rain, due to their former lives as students. When the hordes of zombies bursts into the school during the rain, the electricity generators were damaged.Īfter the outbreak occurred, the school was littered in zombies (former students) whom were still driven by their past memories. ![]() This school had also featured a school store and has showers that provide hot water, a water tank, and a PA System to broadcast messages throughout the school. Unlike most high schools, Megurigaoka High Private School had facilities that could sustain a group of people for extended periods of time, this includes: solar powered electricity, underground water collection and filtration systems, garden for growing crops as well as an underground shelter. This school served five (known) clubs: student council, the scuba club, the garden club (also known as the "horticulture club"), the track and sports club, and School Life Club. Megurigaoka High School ( 巡ヶ丘学院高等学校, Megurigaoka Gakuin Kōtō Gakkō ?) was the school that Yuuri Wakasa, Kurumi Ebisuzawa, Yuki Takeya, Miki Naoki, and Kei Shidou attended, as well as Akiko Kamiyama and Megumi Sakura's place of work. The idea is zombies remember a little of their lives. Her mind and her friends do their best to protect her, but the zombies are interesting. You see the world from Yuki’s point of view, and remember, she doesn’t remember or believe there are zombies. The zombies are there but it’s the characters that keep you interested.ĭon’t expect murder every episode. This show is like a crossover of High School of the Dead and Puella Madoka. When one of the main characters is basically in love with a shovel, you know it’s going to be interesting. ![]() Can they stop her from snapping completely? Anytime her reality is contradicted is a risk to her sanity. They grow their own food in the ‘horticultural club’ and practice their ‘home economics’ by eating meals together. They create a ‘club’ where they live at school so she doesn’t try go home where zombies have overrun the city. But the other girls try to keep her version of reality alive to protect her. She cannot handle the reality of the situation and instead believes that school is functioning as normal! She goes to class, wears her uniform and has a normal school life. How is this a twist? Because our main heroine has mentally snapped. Why? Because zombies have taken over their city. They live in the school in a ‘School Living Club’. Gakko Gurahi is focused on four school girls and their puppy. I can’t tell you the story without ruining the first episode…But here goes. For most of the first episode.īut stay with us, because what we are really thinking is why do they have to live at school anyway? The hints are subtle…the twists will surprise you… and you will be emotionally invested. There’s a high school, a puppy and what generally looks like a slice of life storyline. What’s not to love?!Īt first glance you can easily be forgiven for thinking Gakko Gurashi is a typical shoujo with it’s cutsie girls and peppy intro song.
